Surf and Study with California Scholarships

Who says you can't combine both academics and leisure? Certainly, not the Californian residents who enjoy the most famous entertainment places in the world such as Disneyland and Universal Studios while they study in world-class institutions such as the Pepperdine University and the University of California.

What's more, students in California can enjoy scholarships that are given by colleges, companies, or organizations. There are many kinds of scholarships in California and all of them are commonly given to students who need financial aid, excel in academics, or are active in community services. If you are one of those types of students, then you need this scholarship.

Types of Scholarship

Among the many kinds of scholarships in California, the most popular include the American Indian College Fund, United Negro College Fund, and Upromise. The American Indian College Fund provides scholarships to youths who study in tribal colleges. The primary mission of this foundation is to provide financial aid to tribal students and help them achieve post-secondary education.

Meanwhile, the United Negro College Fund assists deserving students who want to get higher education---may it be a vocational certificate or college degree. This foundation primary focuses on helping black American students or any student who is studying in a black university or college. Lastly, the Unpromise scholarship is the most unique among the three. Aside from awarding a scholarship, this foundation also provides the family of the scholar with its basic needs such as grocery, car gas, medicines, and many more.

Among all scholarships in California, this is simply the biggest because of its well-known sponsors including Coca-Cola, Kimberly-Clark, Citi, McDonald's, and more. Other than these three, California also offers scholarships to international students. These scholarships include the Abilio Reis Memorial Scholarship Award and Asian Employees Association Scholarships. Some of the scholarship programs in this state admit one student only while others give away 10 scholarship awards every year.
